Porcelain Crowns (Caps)
Revitalize your smile with porcelain crowns, also known as caps, designed to encase the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its natural shape and size.
A porcelain crown offers superior protection and strength to tooth structure that cannot be restored with traditional fillings or other restorative options.
Porcelain crowns are favored for their natural appearance, closely resembling your original teeth in both shape and color. Their exceptional durability ensures a long-lasting solution, although, like any dental restoration, they may require replacement over time.
Reasons for Porcelain Crowns:
- Repairing broken or fractured teeth
- Cosmetic enhancement for a more appealing smile
- Restoring decayed teeth to their natural form and function
- Reinforcing teeth with large or fractured fillings
- Protecting teeth that have undergone root canal treatment
What to Expect During the Crown Procedure:
Typically, getting a crown involves two appointments. During your first visit, precise molds or impressions of your teeth will be taken to custom-create your crown.
A temporary crown will be placed over the tooth to protect it until your permanent crown is ready.
At the second appointment, your temporary crown will be removed, and your new porcelain crown will be carefully fitted and bonded into place.
You’ll receive comprehensive care instructions to ensure the longevity of your crown and will be encouraged to schedule regular dental check-ups to monitor its condition.
